I am proud !
Take a good hard look at this photo. It's from today's edition of Maariv Newspaper. The caption reads: "IDF soldier provides water to one of the terrorists who were captured on their way to carry out a bombing in Israel." The facts: there were 5 of them. 2 were carrying explosive belts.
There was a further 17 kilograms of TNT in the trunk of their car. In my opinion, it is deserving of a Pulitzer Prize. Not because our son and your friend/nephew/cousin/grandson is in it. Even though we are oh SO proud of him! It deserves a Pulitzer Prize because it captures the complete essence of the behavior of IDF soldiers throughout Operation Defensive Shield. These are the kind of soldiers who captured Jenin. These are the kinds of soldiers who still fight around the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. These are the kinds of soldiers who surrounded the Muk'ata in Ramallah until last night, and cleaned it up before departing. Take a good hard look at this photo. And be proud!
